I envision a world of worker cooperatives replacing non-profit organizations, where artists thrive artistically and financially, where the labor of artists and arts workers is valued.” -AES

MY BACKGROUND

I have spent my professional life building community with artists, students and organizations as we navigate and support each other to thrive and find collective liberation. My work is always through a lens of economic and racial justice. I speak both ‘Artist’ and ‘Finance’. I teach financial well-being workshops, work one-on-one with clients doing tax preparation and giving financial advice, and consult with organizations and artists to problem-solve their specific issues. I work to dismantle the un-useful structures of the non-profit industrial complex.

Headlong always cared about community building, e.g. hosting and organizing free artist-run Dance Theater Camp, resource sharing, etc.  In 2012 I started Headlong’s Incubated Artist program as a way to be more intentional and direct with our efforts to support artists who have been historically under-resourced, specifically women, trans artists, and artists of color.  I am personally centered on artists, individuals, activists, and collaborative groups whose voices deserve amplification and have often been under-supported compared to their white male counterparts.

I offer a variety of services to artists, including business management, grant writing support, budget consultations, financial management, long-term financial planning, board and staff support, and strategic planning.
